The Triple “I” programme was a pro-active, targeted sports and social project aimed at Including and Involving all individual cultures in an INTERCULTURAL Basketball programme based in the Westside Community Centre. It was in operation on a weekly basis throughout the Winter of 2011 and Spring of 2012. The programme was funded by The Galway City Council and Galway City Sports Partnership and operated and co-ordinated by The Basketball Coaches of Titans Basketball Club and The Victory Scholars of U.S.N.I. Tim Coyne and Will Archembault.
There had been 78 various individuals involved in playing together over the course of the programme, representative of several different nationalities. On the Final day the locally based team invited and made welcome Non league Phillipino teams from around the country to come and play against them.
The tournament was a great success from all perspectives ,but particularly in the interests of Social Inclusion and Intercultural relations.
