As Dave O'Keefe drove to the baseline with two seconds remaining pulling up for his jumper, the final act of a pulsating Men's National League Final was underway as Titans, trailing 81-80, looked for an unlikely victory. For the outstanding travelling supporters, who became Titans sixth man on the court, this match had it all as Titans flew out of the gates 9-0 early on as the unbeaten St Marys of Castleisland failed to settle against a well organised defence. |

After such an indifferent year blighted by injury and availability, somehow, Titans travelled to Palmerstown on Sunday in a repeat of the 2009 final against Ballon and pulled off one of its greatest victories in Titans short history with an 82-75 semi final win. For the amazing travelling support there was no wondering how Titans pulled this off as they watched, cheered and lifted the team in a pulsating 4th quarter.

Titans National League Men kept finals hopes alive with a win on the road against Portlaise on Saturday. Titans must win their two remaining games this weekend against Waterford and Ballon respectively or results will need to go their way for finals qualification. Titan’s big win over Portlaise helped its point’s difference, which coming to the business end of the season, could prove crucial as well as the slow return of players from injury. Once again Titans bench will need to perform and keep turnovers to a minimum while defensively nothing less than an honest defensive effort will do as Titans continue to be erratic under their own boards. |
